Writers Theatre, the Village of Glencoe, and the Glencoe Public Library are launching a free outdoor summer series at WLC Park starting Friday, June 26.

Glencoe Al Fresco runs 5–7 p.m. on three Friday evenings this summer — June 26, July 24, and August 28 — at the park next to Writers Theatre, 325 Tudor Court. Admission is free. Food and drinks are available for purchase.

The June 26 edition is themed "Americana Night," with live music from the band Simple Remedy, according to the event listing. Food trucks include Soul & Smoke BBQ, Indus Progressive Indian Dining, and C&W Ice Cream Parlor, with happy hour specials from the Writers Theatre bar.

The series runs alongside Writers Theatre's summer season, which includes Tom Stoppard's Leopoldstadt (through Saturday, August 16) and JOB. Tickets to those productions are separate from the free Al Fresco events.

Musical lineups for the July 24 and August 28 dates have not been announced.
