Chicago Botanic Garden members can start buying tickets Tuesday, Sept. 15, for Lightscape, the annual holiday light show in Glencoe that has sold out popular dates in past seasons.

The general public sale opens the following Tuesday, Sept. 22. The Garden announced the dates in a post on X on Sept. 8, urging members to mark their calendars.

Lightscape's eighth season runs Nov. 13, 2026, through Jan. 3, 2027, along a 1.3-mile outdoor trail of lights and large-scale installations at the Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road. The Garden's Lightscape page notes that September is a "New On-Sale Date" this year. In previous seasons, tickets went on sale as early as June. The Garden has not yet released details about new installations or programming for the 2026 season.

That earlier timeline meant prime weekend dates disappeared fast. In a 2023 press release, Jodi Zombolo, associate vice president of Visitor Events & Programs, said "most weekend dates in late November and early December are nearly sold out" shortly after that year's tickets launched.

Ticket prices have not been announced.

Non-members who want early access can join at chicagobotanic.org/member before Sept. 15. The Garden's Board of Directors and Woman's Board will host a Lightscape Preview Party fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 12, the night before the show opens to the public, according to Modern Luxury.
