Glencoe Beach is open until 8 p.m. daily through the 2026 summer season, later than in previous years and a welcome shift for North Shore families who want evening lake time after work.
The Glencoe Park District beach's opening day was on Saturday, May 23, for Memorial Day weekend. Lifeguards reported for duty starting June 6.
A season pass is required for all weekend, holiday, and weekday morning visits. Passes are available online at glencoeparkdistrict.com, and season pass holders can purchase a 10-visit guest pass for friends and family.
Beachgoers can also borrow a pass through the Glencoe Public Library via the Explore More Illinois program, a free service run by RAILS (Reaching Across Illinois Library System). The program is available to cardholders at any participating RAILS member library, meaning residents across the North Shore with a card at a member library may be able to check one out.
The Safran Beach House is open all summer with snacks, ice cream, and rental gear including kayaks, sailboats, paddleboards, chairs, and umbrellas. Rentals are subject to weather conditions.
The district says it has increased maintenance frequency for restrooms, locker rooms, and trash collection. Improved parking and pedestrian safety measures are also in place, with a new parking map available at villageofglencoe.org/parkingmap.
Season pass rates and registration are available at glencoeparkdistrict.com.
