Kenilworth car owners who haven't renewed their village vehicle stickers will start seeing warning citations on their windshields beginning Wednesday, July 1, and face a 50 percent fee jump if they wait past Wednesday, July 15.

The current stickers expire Tuesday, June 30. The village is charging $60 per passenger car through July 15, but that price climbs to $90 on Thursday, July 16, and to $120 after Saturday, August 1. A two-car household that misses the July 15 cutoff would pay $60 more than necessary before even accounting for fines.

Starting July 16, the Kenilworth Police Department will issue $35 citations to any vehicle parked on village streets or in commuter lots without a valid 2026–2027 sticker, according to a civic alert posted by the Village of Kenilworth. The two-week warning period from July 1 through July 15 carries no fine.

The full fee schedule before July 15:

  • Passenger cars: $60
  • Motorcycles: $40
  • Trucks under 8,000 lbs.: $60
  • Trucks over 8,000 lbs.: $70

After August 1, those fees rise to $120, $90, $120, and $135, respectively.

The village also acknowledged a printing error on this year's stickers but confirmed all issued 2026–2027 stickers remain valid and do not need replacement.

Residents can renew online at the village's Point & Pay portal; stickers purchased online are mailed to the resident's Kenilworth address. Village Hall, at 419 Richmond Road, handles renewals in person Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Questions can be directed to 847-251-1666.
