All four Trevians entries won their three opening matches Thursday, Oct. 22, giving New Trier 24 points and a four-point lead heading into the second day.

No Trevians tennis team, boys or girls, had ever won four consecutive state titles. This group did it with a 10-point margin over runner-up Highland Park, which finished with 27 points for its first state trophy, The Record North Shore first reported. Hinsdale Central placed third with 23 points, Wheaton-Warrenville South fourth with 22 and Conant fifth with 21.

The title is also New Trier's seventh consecutive state trophy and its 12th in the past 16 seasons.

All four Trevians entries won their three opening matches on Thursday, Oct. 22, building a 24-point cushion heading into the second day.

Senior Julia Ludwig led the charge in singles, finishing as state runner-up. Ludwig, seeded in the 5-8 grouping, rattled off three straight-set wins on opening day, including a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Conant's Khrystyna Pivtorak. She then knocked off top-seeded Jessie Janiak of Lyons 6-2, 6-4 and outlasted Oak Park-River Forest's Lucy Stein 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 in a semifinal that mirrored their 2025 third-place match.

Ludwig fell to state champion Estela Loureiro 6-2, 6-3 in the final. She trailed 5-0 in the second set before mounting a three-game run against Loureiro, a training partner of hers.

"She's kind of special, don't you think?" head coach Jerry Morse-Karzen said of Ludwig, who competed at state all four years of her high school career.

Junior Ingrid Fiedler placed sixth in singles, earning her third state medal in three years. The doubles team of senior Lily Hermann and sophomore Olivia Orlando finished fourth after winning their first four matches. Seniors Annabel Kim and Zeyn Malm went 4-2 and reached the consolation semifinals.

The four-peat is the first in IHSA girls tennis since Hinsdale Central won four straight from 2007 to 2010, according to The Record. No girls tennis program has won five in a row.
