Winnetka police arrested a motorist on DUI charges at Eldorado Street and Green Bay Road early Sunday, Sept. 20, one of four incidents in the department's latest weekly blotter.
Marta Wnuczek, 49, of Morton Grove, was stopped at 2 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the Winnetka Police Department's incident blotter. She was also cited for illegal transportation or possession of alcohol by a driver, improper lane usage and improper turn.
Identity theft tops $5,000
A resident in the 100 block of Fuller Lane reported Thursday, Sept. 17, that unknown offenders had used personal identifiers to open a Capital One SavorOne credit card in the victim's name. The fraud occurred between October and December 2023, but the victim did not report it to police until nearly three years later. Losses exceeded $5,000.
Suspended-license arrest on Sheridan Road
Evan M. Jocic, 19, of Chicago, was arrested at Sheridan Road and Maple Street at 1 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, for driving on a suspended license. Jocic was also cited for speeding 15 to 20 mph over the limit.
Both Wnuczek and Jocic are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Bicycle damaged on Fairview Avenue
An unknown offender damaged a parked bicycle at 275 Fairview Ave. between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14.
The reported loss was $19.
